That kind of relationship was once common on Main Street. Business owners had a CPA who knew them personally, understood the business, and handled the full financial picture—not just one piece of it.
Over time, that model became harder to find. The accounting profession now faces a deep talent shortage, and Main Street is competing with corporations and large firms for a limited pool of experienced CPAs. The comprehensive, relationship-driven support local business owners once relied on has become increasingly rare.
In its place, many owners are left coordinating separate bookkeepers, payroll providers, tax preparers, software platforms, and advisors. The work may get done, but no one connects it all or takes responsibility for where the business is headed.
Mantle was built to be the modern CPA partner Main Street businesses once had—relationship-driven, embedded in the business, and working alongside owners with a clear understanding of where they are and where they are headed.

The Story Behind Mantle
Mantle is named after Henry Mantle, the late maternal grandfather of our firm’s managing partner, Sean.
Abandoned by his parents in middle school during their struggle with addiction, at a time when America had no real foster care system to catch him, he survived one of the toughest upbringings imaginable. At twelve years old, he dropped out of middle school and went to work full-time on the docks of New York — without parents, without relatives, without any support of any kind. The stories from those years are ones few people could believe.
Despite circumstances that could have easily broken him, he went on to build a long career as a truck driver, raise multiple children, and live a long retirement in the Florida sun, as so many New Yorkers do. The hardship he survived built the foundation for everyone who came after him.
In his final years, he often said how proud he was of the life he'd built. But he also hinted, more than once, that if his circumstances had been different, his dream would have been to own his own accounting firm. He loved numbers. He loved hard work. He loved working with people.
