Who You'll be Working With

Sean Conway is a licensed CPA and founder of Mantle Advisory Group. Sean grew up in New Jersey and earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Seton Hall University. He commuted to campus while working a series of jobs and internships at accounting and finance firms, helping put himself through school while gaining practical experience before beginning his full-time career.

After graduating, Sean began his career in Deloitte’s Business Tax Services practice in New Jersey, working on complex tax matters for large corporate clients. He later relocated to Charlotte to join KPMG’s Accounting Methods and Credit Services group, traveling frequently throughout the Southeast to serve clients. Sean then joined PwC’s Specialized Tax Services group to help expand the practice’s presence across the Carolinas.

Sean ultimately returned to Deloitte, where he spent the final four years of his corporate career as a Manager in Deloitte’s Global Investment and Innovation Incentives practice. There, he managed the Charlotte-based team, led work across international offices, and worked directly with senior leadership at some of the world’s largest companies.

During his nine-year Big Four career, Sean saw an opportunity to bring the same caliber of service, technical depth, and year-round support to businesses on Main Street. He left Deloitte to build Mantle around that idea. Today, Sean works directly with business owners across the Carolinas from the first conversation through the ongoing accounting, tax, and advisory work.

Erin began her career in Big 4 audit and advisory, where she earned her CPA license serving complex multi-entity clients across financial services and insurance. After several years inside the Big 4, she transitioned to high-growth startups, where she built accounting and finance functions from the ground up — designing the systems, controls, and reporting that let young companies scale.

That operational background is what sets Erin's work apart. She has lived inside the businesses she now serves — she knows what it looks like to scale a finance function, where the real bottlenecks are, and what owners actually need from a CPA at every stage of growth. Erin leads the conversation when prospective clients first come to Mantle. She scopes engagements, builds the right package around each business, and stays close to the relationships as they grow.

Erin co-founded Mantle on the conviction that small and mid-sized businesses deserve the same caliber of work the Big 4 reserves for its largest clients — direct, senior-level engagement from a licensed CPA, every month of the year.

Erin lives in Charlotte with her family. Outside of client work, she stays active across the local community and is involved with several Charlotte-area organizations.
